The birth of Lord Krishna is a tale of divine intervention and cosmic purpose. In the ancient kingdom of Mathura, ruled by the wicked King Kamsa, a prophecy foretold that Kamsa would be killed by the eighth child of his sister, Devaki. In fear, Kamsa imprisoned Devaki and her husband, Vasudeva, and killed each of their children at birth.When Devaki was pregnant with her eighth child, Lord Vishnu appeared before her and Vasudeva, promising that He would be born as their child to vanquish Kamsa. On the night of Krishna's birth, a miraculous event occurred: the prison guards fell asleep, and the chains binding Vasudeva broke. As the night was dark and stormy, the Yamuna River parted to allow Vasudeva to carry the newborn Krishna safely to Gokul. There, Krishna was exchanged with the daughter of Nanda and Yashoda.Back in the prison, when Kamsa tried to kill the baby girl, she transformed into Goddess Durga, warning him of his impending doom. Meanwhile, Krishna was raised in Gokul, growing up to fulfill the prophecy by ultimately defeating Kamsa and restoring peace in Mathura.
