Within this context, four seminal leader behavior studies stand out, each contributing unique insights into the multifaceted nature of leadership effectiveness.The University of Iowa Studies, spearheaded by Kurt Lewin and his associates, marked the inception of systematic investigations into leadership behaviors. Lewin's team scrutinized three distinct leadership styles: autocratic, democratic, and laissez-faire. Autocratic leaders wielded unilateral authority, dictating decisions and work methods without consulting their subordinates. In contrast, democratic leaders fostered participatory decision-making, engaging the group in goal setting and problem-solving processes. Laissez-faire leaders adopted a hands-off approach, providing minimal guidance and granting the group autonomy in decision-making.
