There was once a time when people dreamed of machines that could think like them. That dream began to come true in 1997, when a computer called Deep Blue made history as the first machine to defeat a chess grandmaster. This was no ordinary grandmaster, but Garry Kasparov, a legend of the game. The world watched in excitement as the electronic brain competed with human intellect and eventually won. A few years later, in 2011, another machine appeared, this time called Watson. Its mission was not to defeat a chess grandmaster, but the champions of the popular TV competition Jeopardy! Watson's ability to process language and answer questions was so astounding that it beat the best human players, once again pushing the boundaries of what AI can do. The story continued in 2016, when the AlphaGo program surprised the world by beating a master at the old and complex board game Go. That was the moment AI showed it could not only process information, but also think strategically and overcome human intuition. In 2019, GPT-2 arrived on the scene, a program capable of generating texts that were so fluid and coherent that it was hard to distinguish them from human-written texts. And a year later, GPT-3 brought even greater capabilities, including code generation, which opened up new possibilities for developers and content creators. By 2023, AI had become less of a sci-fi movie concept and more of a reality as it seamlessly integrated into our daily routines1. People began to use these tools not only for curiosity or entertainment, but also for educational assistance, content creation, advice seeking, and even coding1. In 2024, some of the most important events in AI took place, such as the 4th MENA Conversational AI Summit and the NVIDIA GTC AI Conference1. These events brought the best ideas in the industry, allowed people to share their knowledge, present breakthrough projects and discuss the future of this transformative technology
