It would also enhance my personal growth by dealing with a wide range of people, cultures and situations that are different from what I'm used to. Why work on board? Why kitchen utility? • Because of the salary and being able to see the world and not having any expenses, these advantages are enough to change my job on land in Brazil. And the kitchen utility area is where I have the most experience, as I've already had a contract with MSC in this position. Can you work under pressure? What's the biggest difficulty or challenge you've faced as a kitchen utility? • Yes, I am able to work under pressure effectively and calmly. The biggest challenge was once when the only dishwasher we had in the kitchen broke down just during the peak hours of the ship's restaurant, the counter and table were cluttered with dirty plates, cutlery and utensils, and the situation only got worse as time went on. I asked my manager for more staff to help us, and together we had to wash all the dishes by hand, spray them, scrub them with sponges and soap, rinse them and dry them with cloths, all by hand while the engineers repaired the machine. It only took about two hours and in the end everything was fine. What are the responsibilities and duties related to the kitchen utility? • Keeping the kitchen clean and organized, washing the dishes, cleaning the equipment, separating and disposing of the waste generated in the kitchen properly, maintaining the hygiene and quality of the services carried out in the kitchen.
