This is to appreciate both the current and past teachers whom we believe have contributed to who we are today. The celebration of Teacher’s Appreciation day( TAD) is the first official mandatory project which is organized by every year group upon the attainment of 20 years of leaving school and since this year marks our 20th year of leaving school, we are mandated to host/ organize this year's event. We used the budget our seniors had in organizing their TAD as a guide factoring in inflation. We arrived at Ghc500,000 budget to enable us raise enough such that the excess will be saved/invested as seed money for our 25th anniversary and legacy project. We are about 576 in number. If each individual pays ghc2000, we will have enough to organize this. The main focus is the old/ retired teachers. They are the recipients of the gifts/ money which will be presented. The current teachers will only be refreshed at the ceremony. It is our way of appreciating them since they will not receive money or gifts from us.A lunch is usually organized for them followed by a party/ hangout for us when they leave( this is to celebrate 20 years after school. Catching up and socializing. It is not compulsory but it affords an opportunity to renew our bonds and set the tone for our 25th anniversary)The teachers who received gifts last year were about 85 in number. Current teachers in the school are about 150 according to SMD (I’m sure it includes non teaching staff). Our list will be given to us by the end of October, so we are using that of last year’s for planning purposesWe also plan to print 2004 Polo shirts to be used during the ceremony and for other eventsFrom the survey, majority chose cash gifts1000-37.1%2000-27.8%42% opted for hampers and gift vouchersWe plan to use the new Assembly hall. So decent decor, food and drinks, music and photography to make the day memorableWe have asked for quotes from members of the group who are into events.
