Automated Batch Record Review

In our current setup, most equipment on our site is integrated, with the exception of some IPC instruments. This means that while the workflow process is recorded in EBR, certain in-process control checks are still documented using supplementary paper documents. Let's walk through the manual paper batch record transfer and review process: First, the paper record is drafted and approved, then it's manually printed, distributed, executed, and entered. After that, it's transferred to a reviewer for record review, scanned, and archived in DCC. This entirely manual process poses several challenges, including errors in manual data entry, time-consuming reviews, increased product inventory, and difficulties in traceability. Now, we're introducing an automated batch record review procedure to mitigate these issues by transitioning to a fully electronic approach. So, what exactly does the automated batch record review? Let me show you what we've done: We've digitized all paper batch records and started recording in-process control frequency checks through a mobile web application. Additionally, the MES (Manufacturing Execution System) now interfaces with IPC balance scales to record weigh data in real-time. Furthermore, we've implemented intelligent automation using Python for automated batch record reviews. Then, let us see what happened? As you see, all manual steps associated with paper records have been eliminated, and batch record reviews are now conducted automatically. This streamlined the entire process, reducing it from 12 to just 5 steps.
